Realm: Netherwing Cannot connect with TBC or MOP clients

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I am having trouble connecting on both clients.

On TBC, I can successfully log in and see the realm selection pane, where I can select Netherwing or the PTR. If I select either, I get this:

image.thumb.png.0bea4f9dba01cba7ead6a39b53939e24.png

In MOP, I cannot get past the login.  I instantly get:

image.png.0116114adca7ae0946a36448ed826a6e.png

I emphasize 'instantly' because it doesn't seem like it's doing any check at all, especially any check over the network, it has just already 'decided' to block with that error. Why could this be?

For MOP, here is the config.wtf:

SET realmlist "logon.stormforge.gg”
SET locale "enUS"
SET installLocale "enUS"
SET portal "logon.stormforge.gg:1118"
SET enterWorld "1"

The clients work - the TBC client runs and connects to another TBC pserver, I can make characters and play there. But it does not properly connect to Stormforge-Netherwing.

The MOP client runs and connects to Tauriwow, where I can make characters and play, but it does not connect at all to Stormforge-Mistblade.

im sure you're using a launcher

please use a normal wow.exe and change realmlist to  SET realmlist "logon.stormforge.gg"

I am not using a launcher. Nor even the executable (.app for mac) patched by Tauri. I used the stock executable that can be found in the link to the Mac guide on Tauri that you posted here.

As first posted, the realmlist is set to "logon.stormforge.gg."

there is an extra '.' at the end
also make sure you're logging with username
and you can use this patched exe under stormforge domain. https://download.stormforge.gg/wow_18291_patched.zip

That's just me quoting it and ending the sentence with a period, in the actual config file (posted in my first post) you can see there is no "." at the end. The "set portal" part has also been removed since then but it made no difference.

I cannot use an .exe. But does it need a patched executable?
