Realm: Mistblade Returning Player Seeking Step-by-Step Guide for Gearing Up in WoW

Hello everyone,

I’m a returning player who last played WoW over 14 years ago. Back then, things seemed simpler, or maybe I'm just getting old! I'm trying to catch up with the current game mechanics and gearing requirements.

I understand that a basic item level (ilvl) is necessary for entering raids or joining a guild. I have an ilvl of 464 from heroic RDF, but I'm unsure where to redeem them. I've heard that completing questlines is important, as I currently can't fly in Pandaria.

It seems like everyone “knows” what to do, but I’m feeling lost. Could someone please point me towards a step-by-step guide or video that explains how to level up gear effectively? For example, starting from RDF heroics, then farming reputation, moving on to random raids, and eventually increasing my ilvl?

Any detailed guidance or resources would be greatly appreciated!
