General As new player on the server, you almost made me leave

Hey all!

We all want a thriving and active server - because let’s be honest, playing with more people is way more fun.

That said, I wanted to bring up something that might be a bit overwhelming for new players. When I first joined yesterday, I was bombarded with a ton of guild invites - so many that I had to spend time clicking them all away before I even had a chance to adjust my settings.

I know there’s an option to disable auto-invites in the interface, but I don’t think new players should have to deal with that right away. It would probably be a better experience if guild invites were sent more organically - like after adventuring together and getting to know each other.

I can totally see how clicking out of lots of guild invites could be annoying.  I have never experienced that personally.  On realms where people do run an auto guild invite addon, I usually just accept the first invite that I receive and then I see if they are a good fit.  If not then I drop that guild and accept the next invite I receive.  I don't get those kind of invites on Netherwing and on Sheilun when I create a new character and get an invite it is to a level 25 guild with all the perks.  That makes it a great thing to have while leveling.

The question is, how could the people managing that sort of thing make it better?  Block guild inviting to anyone level one, so you have to level up to level two before you can receive a guild invite?  That would give you a chance to login and change the guild invite setting.  Perhaps making the block guild invite a default config in the client?  This would allow you to login and then opt out of blocking to receive an invite rather than having to opt into blocking.  Perhaps just a third-party addon that toggles the blocking on the first time you login so it could pre-empt all those invites?  Personally, I like this because it does not enforce rules for all users, but gives each user an option to initially block guild invites if they want to download the addon.
